Ubisoft has revealed some new details on the upcoming Assassin's Creed title for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, including confirmation that Altaïr is back as a playable character.
The new Assassin's Creed game, subtitled Revelations, follows Ezio on his quest to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor Altaïr. Ezio's mission sees him tasked with recovering "five ancient seals that hold the keys to the future of the Assassins' Brotherhood."The game is mostly set in Constantinople and the Templars are the main antagonists. Players will also visit Masyaf, the mountain stronghold of the Assassins last seen in the first game. Altaïr has been confirmed as a playable character, so presumably the Masyaf segments will see players taking control of him once more.
Ezio still takes center stage for the majority of the game, though, with a new arsenal of weapons and abilities to use against his foes, including a hookblade, the ability to craft bombs and a "heightened Eagle Sense."
Multiplayer returns with more modes, new maps and new characters, many of whom are pulled from the single player adventure. No details on the new modes as yet.
Assassin's Creed Revelations is due out in the fall for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
